2012 Monte Jade New England Election Results

Angela Mah (馬曾夏慧), is the newly elected President and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association of New England (MJNE新英格蘭玉山科技協會), the board announced on February 3, 2012.

“We are very excited to have Angela to lead the board.  Her blend of business and the wealth of experience in media and public relations will help the organization for growth,” said Dr. Christopher Fang, former President of the MJNE board.  Angela Mah is the founder of Mah & Associates ( 力迅國際公關公司), a communications and IT company which helps businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies in the areas of public and media relations.  Ms. Mah is well known in the community for her work as spokesperson and organizer of many events, programs, and trade delegations that serve the Asian American community and beyond.

 

MJNE is a Boston based non-profit organization composed of science and technology professionals focusing on information sharing, business opportunities, networking, and mentoring programs.  MJNE is in its 19th year in the New England area with over 150 members and is part of the global Monte Jade network with 15 chapters in the U.S. and overseas.  “For the upcoming year, MJNE aims to bring in business development opportunities and to help build new leaders in the industry,” stated Ms. Mah, “MJNE will be co-hosting along with TECO Boston a “Biotechnology Business Forum” as part of the events in the upcoming “2012 International BIO Conference北美生技大展” to be held Boston this summer.  In addition, MJNE will be hosting a series of industry specific events and mentoring programs in a regular basis.”

 

Rex Huang (黃奕琦) is the new Vice President and Legal Counsel for MJNE.  Mr. Huang is a patent attorney and a principal in the Boston Office of Fish & Richardson P.C., a global law firm with over 350 lawyers in twelve offices.  It is one of the largest firms practicing intellectual property, litigation, and technology.  “Mr. Huang has been with the board for a number of years, he brings in a wide range of expertise in patent law and technology,” said Ms. Mah.


Yushen Chang (張餘慎) is the new Treasurer and Director of Membership for the MJNE.  Ms. Chang is a staffing specialist in Human Resources with ample experience in the life science/high tech sector.  Currently, Ms. Chang works at The Broad Institute (MIT & Harvard) in Human Resources where she plays an imperative role in developing and implementing corporate recruiting strategies for non-profit academic organizations.


Dr. Jamie Tsung (曾 宓) is the new Secretary and Director of Communications for MJNE.  Dr. Tsung is a lead scientist with in product development and processing in the biopharmaceutical industry.  Currently, she works for Shire, Inc. where her research is focused on product development for the CNS (Central Nervous System).

 

“We are bringing in the best and brightest that Boston has to offer like Huang, Chang, and Tsung, as they are leaders in their respective fields,” emphasized Ms. Mah, “We serve the Asian American community as well as the science and technology community. Our goal is to provide the best opportunities for Asians working/studying in science and technology to network with leaders in industry; get training, and ultimately advance their careers.”
